Using multiple MetaTrader accounts on one VPS allows traders to manage more than one trading account from the same remote Windows environment. This is useful when running separate broker accounts, different strategies, or both MT4 and MT5 platforms on a single server.

A Forex VPS hosting server can run multiple MetaTrader terminals at the same time, as long as the VPS has enough CPU, RAM, and disk resources for each platform instance.

Step 1: Connect to Your Windows VPS

Open Remote Desktop Connection on your local computer:

mstsc

Enter your VPS IP address, then log in with your Windows username and password.

Step 2: Install the First MetaTrader Terminal

Install MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5 normally on the VPS.

If MetaTrader is not installed yet, follow this guide first:

Step 3: Install Another MetaTrader Instance

To run multiple accounts at the same time, install a separate MetaTrader instance for each account.

Run the MetaTrader installer again.

When the setup window appears, click:

Settings

Choose a different installation folder for the second terminal.

Example folders:

C:\MetaTrader-Account-1
C:\MetaTrader-Account-2
C:\MetaTrader-Account-3

Each MetaTrader account should have its own separate installation folder.

Step 4: Open Each MetaTrader Terminal

After installing separate terminals, open each MetaTrader instance from its own shortcut or installation folder.

For example:

C:\MetaTrader-Account-1\terminal.exe
C:\MetaTrader-Account-2\terminal.exe

This allows each terminal to run independently on the same Windows VPS.

Step 5: Log In to a Different Account on Each Terminal

Inside each MetaTrader window, open:

File → Login to Trade Account

Enter the account details for that specific terminal:

  • Login ID
  • Password
  • Broker server

Use one trading account per MetaTrader instance if you want multiple accounts running at the same time.

Step 6: Rename Desktop Shortcuts

Rename each MetaTrader shortcut so you can easily identify each account.

Example shortcut names:

MT4 Account 1
MT4 Account 2
MT5 Main Account

This helps avoid opening the wrong terminal when managing several accounts on the VPS.

Step 7: Keep All Required Terminals Open

To keep multiple MetaTrader accounts active, leave each required terminal open inside the VPS session.

You can disconnect from Remote Desktop by closing the RDP window, but do not sign out or shut down the VPS.

Using multiple MetaTrader accounts on one VPS is possible by running separate MetaTrader installations for each trading account. This keeps accounts organized and allows multiple trading terminals to stay active from the same Windows VPS environment.
