How to Install MetaTrader 5 on Windows VPS

MetaTrader 5 is a multi-asset trading platform used for Forex, stocks, futures, technical analysis, and automated trading. Installing MT5 on a Windows VPS allows traders to access the platform remotely from a stable Windows server environment.

Many traders use a Forex VPS hosting server to install MetaTrader 5, manage trading accounts remotely, and keep their trading setup separate from a personal computer.

Step 1: Connect to Your Windows VPS

Open Remote Desktop Connection on your local Windows computer:

mstsc

Enter your Windows VPS IP address, then log in with the username and password provided by your VPS provider.

Step 2: Open a Browser on the VPS

After connecting to the Windows VPS, open Microsoft Edge or any installed browser.

The MT5 installer should be downloaded directly inside the VPS, not on your local computer.

Step 3: Download MetaTrader 5 from the Official Website

Download MetaTrader 5 only from the official MetaTrader website or from your broker’s official client area. The official MetaTrader 5 website provides a Windows installer for the desktop trading platform.

Step 4: Run the MT5 Installer

After the download finishes, open the installer file.

The file name is usually similar to:

mt5setup.exe

If Windows asks for permission, click:

Yes

Step 5: Install MetaTrader 5 on Windows VPS

Follow the installation wizard and click:

Next

The installer downloads the required MetaTrader 5 platform files and installs them on the Windows VPS.

After installation is complete, MetaTrader 5 should open automatically. If it does not open, launch it from the desktop shortcut or Start menu.

Step 6: Log In to Your Trading Account

Inside MetaTrader 5, open:

File → Login to Trade Account

Enter your trading account details:

• Login ID
• Password
• Broker server

Then click:

Login

If the login is successful, MetaTrader 5 is installed and ready to use on the Windows VPS.
